Kanata Fall Outing 2008 Information
We hope that everyone is getting excited about the upcoming fall season! The Camp Kanata Fall Outing for 1st-3rd Year Guides and Princesses is an awesome way to kick-start a great year with the tribe.
Our program is blessed with large numbers of dads and kids, and because we have such big groups we made some exciting changes to the Fall Outing last year. We are continuing to have a separate 3rd Year Fall Outing each weekend. The 1st & 2nd Year Fall Outings will remain the same as in the past.
The 3rd Year Fall Outings will be spread over four Saturdays in the fall at Camp Kanata. The weekend breakdowns are listed below.
Third year tribes will be assigned to a specific Saturday event. Each Saturday event will begin at 10:00 a.m. where we will have an amazing assortment of activities that the tribes can do all day. Please feel free to bring your own sports equipment and cooking supplies/food. The activities will close at 4:30 p.m. and we will have a special 3rd Year campfire down by the lake. We will have a great program and a bear claw exchange for the dads and kids. Third Year tribes also have the opportunity to enter the lottery for a cabin to spend the night at Camp Kanata. We have limited space for some tribes to spend the night on Friday night before the Fall Outing, and some tribes on Saturday night of the Fall Outing.
The lottery for the cabins will be held at the Fall Chief’s Meeting on August 5, 2008. Staff from Camp Kanata will be at the Chief’s Meeting to give more details. Third Year tribes can come to camp on Saturday anytime after 10:00 a.m. Be prepared to bring and cook your own food, participate in some cool activities, and have a great day with the tribe!

- Sunday, Nov. 16 - 1st & 2nd Year Guides (A-M)
- Sunday, Nov. 23 - 1st & 2nd Year Guides (N-Z)
The 1st and 2nd Year Fall Outings will be spread over four Sundays in the fall at Camp Kanata. The weekend breakdowns are listed below! Your 1st or 2nd year tribe will be assigned to a specific Sunday event. Each Sunday event will begin at 1:00 p.m. Get ready to discover the wooded oasis within Wake County. Tribes are free to bring their own sports equipment, go hiking (you need to complete your hiking requirement for the feather), and bring your fishing equipment. Remember to bring all of your own food and cooking supplies. We will also have a Y-Guides and Princesses store open with cool gear. The day will conclude with a special campfire down by the lake which will begin at 5:30 p.m. Second Year Tribes need to bring one torch per pair for the campfire ceremony. |
