Between all the official YGP outings and tribal meetings, there's always time
for other fun activities and special events.

Whether it's canoeing down the Neuse River, spending the night on an
aircraft carrier or particpating in a worthwhile charity event, below are a list of activities everyone can enjoy:






The Amazing Race
The task ahead of you is never as great as the power behind you. Teams can particpate in the YMCA Amazing Race - a trip around theTriangle, bringing teens and their families together. All competing to do their best and win the race. More information here.

 


Wolfpack Athletics
NC State has been a great sponsor of YGP events. From men's basketball at the RBC Center to softball at the Dail Softball Complex, the Pack loves the support of our Guides and Princesses. Many events include a patch!

YGP Night as the Wolfpack Men's Soccer squad takes on Gardner-Webb Oct. 4, at 7pm. Special pricing for YGP and other family members. More information here.



Broadway Series South
The best Broadway has to offer - right in Raleigh! Special YGP pricing for Annie, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Happy Days, Stomp, Wizard of Oz and High School Musical 2! Click on the show for info and specials.

 


Dead Broke Farm
Imagine riding on winding trails through a shady forest - the rhythm of your horse, a lazy creek, an abundance of wildlife, and great guides. Dead Broke Farm offers horseback riding to satisfy every equine adventure need. Tribes get a special patch and prices!

Hemophilia Walk
Please join us for Hemophilia Walk 2008 on Oct. 18 at Lake Crabtree County park and participate in our fun and festive event. Proceeds will support NHF and our chapters, and raise awareness about the bleeding and clotting disorders community.

 


ACC Women's Tourney
Y Princesses & Guides Day at the ACC Women's basketball tournament in Greensboro – Sunday, March 8. FanFest doors open at 11:00am. Tournament championship game @ 1:00pm. PATCHES PROVIDED! Group tickets only $7 per person while supplies last. GREAT FAMILY FUN! Deadline to order tickets: Feb. 25, 2009. Order form here.

 


Cary Band Day
The 50th Annual Cary Band Day will held be Nov. 1 at Cary High School. They will have a parade at 10am, followed by competitions. The parade is supposed to be huge! They need "filler" groups to be between the marching bands and organizers would love to invite all surrounding Cary Guides anbd Princesses tribes to participate in the parade portion of the day. Groups can sign up on their website.

 

 


Monkey Joe's
is about kids having fun in the best indoor playground ever seen. Monkey Joe’s makes exercising fun and guarantee to burn off excess energy. Rain or shine, there is not a better place to bring your kids than Monkey Joe’s.

 


Carolina Ballet
Carolina Ballet offers two great shows this season at Memorial Auditrium: Nutcracker (Dec. 19-28) and Beauty & the Beast (May 28-31). Special priced shows offered for Guides and Princesses.

 


Triangle T.R.A.C.K.S.
Browse through Triangle T.R.A.C.K.S. list to access well over a thousand local resources for children in the Triangle. Join their social network to interact with other parents, and personalize your profile by adding a photo and information about yourself. Then invite other parents to join in the fun! This one is just for kids!.

 


Outpost Weekends
Spend a weekend on the Crytsal Coast of NC at the Camp Sea Gull/Seafarer Outpost - the perfect location on the water for a weekend group get-away. Custom packages can include sailing, fishing, island exploration and more. And don't forget nearby shopping and dining! Contact Garry Brown for more info.

 


Paddle Creek
Paddle Creek invites the entire Arapahoe Nation to cruise down the Neuse River in their kayaks and canoes. Paddle Creek offers affordable trips down the Neuse just for Guides and Princesses. The “Quick Trip” takes about 2 hours down a scenic 3-mile stretch of the river, and a full day trip that will take you 10 miles down the river. Call them at (919) 866-1954.

 


Jumpin' Beans
Jump into fun at Jumpin' Beans Inflatable Fun Space & Café - 40’x25’ Inflatable Playgrounds make sure everyone has a bouncing good time. Special Guides/Princesses tribe packages available - and even a special patch! Locations in Wake Forest and Cary.


Triangle Rock Club
The Triangle Rock Club is the Raleigh area’s premiere indoor rock climbing center. New to climbing? No problem. There's no experience necessary. TRC is the perfect place to celebrate a birthday, spend time with the whole family or host your next tribal outing! Get a super cool patch and have your meeting at the same time! Special Y-Guides and Princess program pricing.

Jump!Zone
Join Jump!Zone Mondays or Thursdays 5pm-8pm for Family Fun Night. Wear your vest and receive a discounted admission of $5 per child. Tribal outings offered as well!

NC Theatre
North Carolina Theatre offers special discounted group rates for shows throughout the season. From Peter Pan to Annie Get Your Gun - NC Theatre offers a variety for adults and family alike. Look on the web site often or check the calendar for more!


Carolina Mudcats

The Carolina Mudcats traditional hold a Guides/Princess Day at the Fiev County Stadium each season. Hop on US264 and zip on out for an evening of food, fun and top flight baseball action. Muddy will be in the house! Tickets include Muddy Meal, box seat, infield pre-game ceremony honoring all Guides & Princesses in attendance - and PATCH!





Durham Bulls

This season over 3,000 Big Braves, Guides & Princesses enjoyed a Bulls game with over half of them staying to camp out on the field at The Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Look here for more events with the Bulls.

 

 

 


Ghost Town in the Sky
Step back in time when the West was still Wild - at Ghost Town in the Sky! Located atop Buck Mountain in Maggie Valley, Ghost Town is a timeless family-fun tradition. Get a thrill on rollercoasters, kick back at the Red Dog Saloon and embrace Native American traditions - Ghost Town has it all! But watch out for the Bad Guys! Reserve your tickets early and get a special Ghost Town patch!

North Carolina Museum of History

For free activities to fill summer days, check out six August programs at the N.C. Museum of History in Raleigh. The Summer Performance Series continues with an unusual presentation by Beverly Botsford, who will play an assortment of gourds. During a noon program, sports historian Jim Sumner will highlight North Carolinians who have made history at the Olympics. There is something for all ages to enjoy.

The Little Gym
No matter the weather, stay indoors for some fun, joining Tumbling Bear and Spirited Wolf for a fun-filled tribal party at The Little Gym in North Raleigh. All other Triangle Little Gyms too! A tribe can have the entire gym and instructors to themselves for a private party. Special rates apply for Guides/Princesses looking for an action packed get together, complete with a patch.

Action Ski & Outdoor Tours
Action Ski & Outdoor Adventures offers two ski trips in February - a day trip and an overnight adventure
to Winterhaven, VA. More information available here and visit Action Ski & Outdoor Adventures online as well.



RBC Center

Cruise aboard the Jeanie B. - Former Sea Gull/Seafarer staffers Lee & Brooks Sutton offer tribes the opportunity to set sail upon the mighty Neuse River and learn the art of sailing during the months of Sept., Oct., Nov. March, April & May. Besides being a ton of fun, a Jeanie B. trip gives tribes a first-hand experience at navigation, rigging and knot tying. Average cost is $25-$30 per person for a 4-hour Neuse cruise. Based in New Bern, the Jeanie B. is US Coast Guard approved for up to 30 passengers and available for full day and overnight excursions. Make a weekend of it and stay in New Bern, visiting historic Tryon Palace and the birthplace of Pepsi!

 


Jellybeans - Get ready to skate the night away with hundreds of other dads and kids. Our Guides/Princesses skate nights are held annually at the North Raeligh and Cary locations. Watch the web for more info.

USS Yorktown / Patriot's Point - Shipmates! Get ready for a deployment of discovery aboard The Fighting Lady and the entire Patriots Point fleet. For more than 25 years, the Youth Overnight Camping Program aboard the aircraft carrier USS YORKTOWN is one of the nation's top education adventures. Youngsters arrive and experience the USS YORKTOWN, sleep in the berthing like sailors, learn about naval and aviation history. Packages includes tours and meals, plus an excursion to a second, great educational attraction in Charleston such as Ft. Sumter or the South Carolina Aquarium.
