Whether it's canoeing down the Neuse River, spending the night on an
aircraft carrier or
taking in a Broadway show, below are a list of activities everyone can enjoy. Some are free, some have fees. Some have patches, some are patchless... but are all are great fun!
Please note that the YGP office does not distribute patches for the third-party programs
or events listed below. Participants should go directly through the vendor to obtain a patch.

NC State has been a great sponsor of YGP events. From men's basketball at the RBC Center to softball at the Dail Softball Complex, the Pack loves the support of our Guides and Princesses. Many events include a patch!

Carolina Mudcats
The Carolina Mudcats host their annual
Guides/Princesses Day at Five County Stadium each season. Hop on US264 and zip on out for an evening of food, fun and top flight baseball action. Muddy will be in the house! Carolina Baseball and Arapahoe Nation are pleased to partner this season to offer fans with an exciting promotion. Junior Ranger Program
Guides & Princesses! Are you interested in exploring? Do you like art, science, history or nature? How about animals, sailing ships, dinosaurs or trains? Rather than tying their park experiences only to the scheduled programs, Junior Ranger Programs are designed to provide participants with the flexibility to see and interact with the park at their own pace and within the limits of their own time. Many National Parks offer visitors the opportunity to join the National Park Service Family as Junior Rangers. Interested students complete a series of activities during their park visit, share their answers with a park ranger, and receive an official Junior Ranger badge or patch.

Aurora Fossil Museum
The Aurora Fossil Museum, founded in 1976, is a non-profit fossil education resource center whose mission is to increase knowledge of the geology and paleontology of the coastal plains of North Carolina. Dig for sharks' teeth in their Pit of the Pungo, visit the museum or buy Mom a special gift at the Aurora Fossil Museum, only 30 minutes from Arapahoe in beautiful downtown Aurora! Birthplace of NC’s Capital
Step back in time at the Joel Lane Museum House! Experience what life was like in the 18th century in Wake County. Kid-friendly tours are offered on Saturday afternoons (patches now available for a small fee). Built in the early 1770s, Joel Lane’s home is the oldest Raleigh. Its role today is to teach about the sacrifices the founding fathers and mothers made to make this great country, state, and city what they are today. Tours are followed by touching experience of reproduction artifacts.

Bennett Place State Historic Site
Bennett Place State Historic SiteIthe site of the largest surrender of the Civil War in April 1865) is a North Carolina State Historic Site in Durham which provides tours and educational programs pertaining to the American Civil War. They will provide historical educational experiences, nature trails, and possible community service projects on site such as landscaping, and nature trail care for community service. |

U.S. Figure Skating Championships
Greensboro will be hosting the U.S. Figure Skating Championships January 22-30, 2011 which will feature over 8 days America's best figure skating competitors including many participants from the 2010 Winter Olympics Games. The skating spectacular will include competition, practice and fanfest.
Guides are eligible for discounted group tickets at $7.00 each per person/per session. There are 20 sessions to select from and the discount applies to all sessions while supplies last.
