Spring Outing season is upon us! Seven awesome, full-filled weekends of all things pirates at Camp Sea Gull and Camp Seafarer. Be sure to stop by Neuse Sports Shop in Kinston on your way down to get your camp/cabin assignments (Please do not call the office. No assignment information will be given out over the phone. You or someone from your tribe must visit Neuse Sports Shop).

Trailblazers: G - May 25-27 (40% full)

Remember that Guides and Princesses are attending the Camps during the same weekends. Don’t worry. Guides and Princess Tribes will be in separate cabins. You’ll also notice that we’ve added an additional Trailblazer ONLY Spring Outing at Camp Sea Gull on Memorial Day weekend. We are excited to be able to add this weekend to the schedule. Rockmont lottery starting soon

Calling all Trailblazers! Now is your time to experience everything that the mountains of North Carolina have to offer – scenic views, great food and a festive atmosphere! And forget the Triple Thrill...

As some of you may know, we saw our fastest Camp Rockmont registration last year, selling out all weekends by 6am. We listened to your feedback and want to make this year’s registration process as fair and as positive as we can! We will be using a lottery system for this 2012 Camp Rockmont season. From Tuesday, May 29th to Friday, June 8th tribes will be able to drop off a completed lottery form at our office (Please only ONE lottery form per tribe).

• We will accept lottery forms, for cabin space or Tent City space dropped off in person at our office, Monday through Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm (we are unable to accept emailed, faxed or mailed forms). • Payment (Credit Card or check) of $143 per person must be attached for each person listed on the lottery form. • Please know that turning in your tribe’s lottery form does not guarantee your spot at Camp Rockmont. Your tribe’s completed lottery form (and payment from every participant) enters you in to the lottery. • No payments will be processed until the lottery has been complete.

The deadline for turning in the registration forms will be Friday, June 8 at 5:00 pm.

Registration/Tribe Formation Meetings

The purpose of these meetings is for dads of first graders to register for Y Guides, form tribes, and sign up for a dad training meeting.

Many Dads come to this meeting with their tribes already formed, which is great. However, it is perfectly fine to come without a tribe, and find other Dad’s at this meeting to start a tribe. Most tribes are formed based on this “pot-luck” system. We will have the Dad’s sit based upon having a boy or girl and by their zip code.

If you do not attend this meeting, or have someone represent you, there is a good chance you will not get into a tribe.These meetings are for new first year tribes only. No need to bring your child(ren) - Dads only, please.

Your newly formed tribe will also sign up for a Dad Training meeting, which will be the following week. At the dad training meeting you will receive all of your yearly supplies, learn about the program, and pay your dues. Everyone in the tribe will need to attend this training, even if they have been in the program before.

There are three options for Dad Training, September 10, 11 & 13 at the McKimmon Center, 7pm -8:30pm. Tickets will be handed out at Registration night.

2011-2012 Program Dues Information

The 2011-2012 dues is $93 per pair for non-members of the YMCA, $76 per pair for members of the YMCA. For each additional child in the program the fee is $35 and $28, respectively. Trailblazers no longer have to pay dues. The Y Guides office will be sending out invoices to all current participants in early June. Please fill out the dues invoice and return it to the office via the mail or in person by the dues deadline on Friday, September 30, 2011. We accept checks and CC by mail (Visa, MC, & AMEX), and checks, CC, and cash in person at the office.

Y-Guides Refund Policy: Y-Guides Refund Policy Cancellations received up to five business days prior to the day of the event will receive a full refund minus a $25 processing fee. Cancellations received Monday-Thursday the week of the event, will result in a refund of HALF the event fee. NO REFUNDS will be given for cancelling on the Friday of the event or after the event has passed. There are no refunds offered for Winter Inning. All requests for refunds need to be made in writing (by email) to Renee Holley.
