No gift you give your son or daughter will mean as much as the time you spend with him or her. And you'll find that you treasure those moments, as well.

The YMCA Y-Guides and Princess programs are for boys and girls in the first through third grades and their dads. Tribes are composed of seven to nine fathers and their sons or daughters. Tribes meet twice a month in a member’s home with fun activities.

Upon reaching fourth grade, many Guides and Princesses continue in the YGP program as Trailblazers and Trailmates, respectively. Tribes mostly participate in group outings throughout the year, including Camp Rockmont in the Fall and season ending Spring Outing.

NEW DADS! The final informational/sign-up Dads Only meeting will be held Tues., Sept. 9, 7pm at the Jane S. McKimmon Center on the NC State campus in Raleigh. .Attend with a tribe already together or meet new dads looking for tribemates in your neighborhood - either way, foster your relationship with your son or daughter by joining the Y-Guides & Princesses.

Fall into Camp Rockmont & Camp Kanata!

Camp Rockmont bunk space is officially SOLD OUT. Tent City wide open all weekends - so it's not too late to make plans to attend THE Fall event of the year. The cost is $110 per person ($220 per pair). The registration period ended on August 10. NOTE: Dues must be paid in full before registering for Rockmont or white water rafting trip. . . . . Rafting space for the first and last Rockmont weekends is now FULL. Limited space available for the second Rockmont weekend. The rafing trip costs $75 per person and includes Thursday night stay at Rockmont, transportation and lunch on the river. To make reservations for the rafting trip, call Buddy Fowler at 919-847-0445. Don't miss this opportunity tocreate some lasting memories with your child! NOTE: This outside vendor trip requires payment separately from dues and/or Rockmont registration fees.

Time to plan Fall Outing! The Camp Kanata Fall Outing for 1st-3rd Year Guides and Princesses is an awesome way to kick-start a great year with the tribe. Because we have such big groups we made some exciting changes to the Fall Outing last year and we are continuing to have a separate 3rd Year Fall Outing each weekend. The 1st & 2nd Year Fall Outings will remain on Sundays as in the past. Lottery for 3rd year Kanata cabins was held at the Fall chief's meeting Aug. 5. Cabins may still be available for some weekends. Special events planned for Third Years...

DADDY/DAUGHTER DATE NIGHT The 2008 Daddy Daughter Date Nights will be held at the Crabtree Valley Marriot on Sunday, Sept. 21, Sept. 28, Oct. 5, and Oct. 12.  This will be a great chance to take your favorite little girl out for dinner and dancing.  The cost of the Date Night is $72 per pair, and includes dinner for two, dancing, a corsage, and patches.  Registration has started and will end on Friday, Sept. 12th. GUIDES' POW-WOW
Can you survive two nights in the wilderness?  If you are up for the challenge, join us at BW Wells Campground on Friday, September 26-Sunday, September 28.  We will be braving the elements while we explore Falls Lake on foot and on the water.  The cost is $10 per pair and registration started June 16.  Dues have to be paid at the time you register your tribe for the Pow-Wow.
